Intensive Course: What’s in a name? The Intensive Course balances knowledge and skills inputs through short lectures, hands-on workshops and project development. Participants work closely in small diverse groups, assigned at the beginning of the week, on a project culminating in a performance or presentation — or whatever the group decides. SciCultureD encourages openness and freedom. The project time is about learning to work side by side with people from a completely different educational and professional background. The skills attained are secondary to this often complex, yet rewarding, process. By applying the double diamond design thinking process, participants have the chance to navigate innovation processes and will learn how to adapt that kind of structured thinking into their projects. The topics are intended to be open so as not to hinder the imagination. Where possible, we bring in other experts to bring these themes into a local context. We also believe in a little tough love, so participants are encouraged to read relevant literature that is sent approximately two weeks ahead of the Course start date. Some of the reading is required, however most of the material is supplementary and optional.
